Getting Started

Quickstart

This guide walks you through getting your first interactive video live on Keep'em. The whole process takes under 10 minutes.

Step 1: Create Your Organization

After signing up, you'll create an organization. This is your top-level account for billing and team management. If you're a solo founder, you still need one — it's how Keep'em manages your subscription and usage.

Give your organization a name (typically your company name) and you're set.

Step 2: Create a Project

Inside your organization, create a project. Projects are containers for branding and content. Each project can have its own colors, logo, and custom domain (on Growth and Scale plans).

If you have one product, you'll likely have one project. Agencies or companies with multiple products might use multiple projects to keep branding separate.

Step 3: Create an Event

An event is a single interactive video experience. Click "New Event" and give it a title and description.

Choose your event type:

  • On-demand — Available for viewing at any time. Best for onboarding videos, product demos, and evergreen content.
  • One-time — Scheduled for a specific date and time. Best for product launches or one-off presentations.
  • Recurring — Repeats on a schedule (e.g., every Thursday at 5 PM). Best for weekly onboarding sessions or regular training.

Step 4: Upload Your Video

Upload your video file. Keep'em accepts most common video formats. Once uploaded, the platform automatically:

  1. Extracts audio from the video
  2. Transcribes the entire audio to text
  3. Generates chapters based on topic changes in the content
  4. Creates subtitles for accessibility
  5. Chunks and indexes the transcript for AI search

This processing typically takes a few minutes. You'll see the status update in your dashboard as each step completes.

Step 5: Add Documents (Optional)

For richer AI responses, upload supporting documents — PDFs, help articles, or paste in text. The AI uses these alongside your video transcript when answering questions.

For example, if your video is a product demo, upload your FAQ document and product guide. When a viewer asks a question not covered in the video, the AI can pull from these documents.

Step 6: Share With Viewers

You have two options for getting viewers to your event:

Hosted page — Share the event URL directly. Viewers register with their email and name, receive a magic link, and start watching.

Embedded widget — Add a script tag to your website or SaaS dashboard. The widget handles registration, display logic, and playback. See the Embedding guide for details.

What Happens Next

Once a viewer starts watching, they'll see AI-suggested questions appear as they progress through the video. They can ask their own questions at any time using the chat panel. The AI responds in seconds using your transcript and documents.

You can monitor engagement in real time from your dashboard — who's watching, what they're asking, and where they drop off.
