Magic Links
Keep'em uses magic links for passwordless viewer access. No account creation, no passwords, no "forgot password" friction. Viewers click a link and start watching.
How It Works
When a viewer registers for an event, they receive an email containing a unique magic link. This link contains a registration token that identifies them to the platform. Clicking the link opens the event page and creates a viewing session automatically.
The viewer never needs to create a Keep'em account. They never need to remember a password. They click the link and they're in.
Why Magic Links
Traditional authentication creates friction. Every "Create Account" form is a point where potential viewers drop off. Magic links eliminate this entirely. The viewer provides their email, receives a link, and clicks it. One step between interest and viewing.
For SaaS onboarding use cases, embedded widgets skip even this step — the viewer is already authenticated in the host application.
Security
Magic links are scoped to a single registration for a single event. The token in the link is long, random, and not guessable. Someone with the link can view the event as that registrant — similar to how any magic link system works.
For most use cases, this security level is appropriate and matches viewer expectations. Future enhancements may include single-use tokens and token expiry for higher-security scenarios.
